About Guaranteed Transmission Service!
Guaranteed Transmission Service began as an idea in a one-car garage where John and Terri Johnson lived over 25 years ago in Lafayette, Indiana. John and Terri built their idea 3 years later at 3742 State Road 38 East. At that time, Guaranteed Transmission Service had 5 service bays all specifically for transmission and driveline maintenance and repair. The founding principles of Guaranteed Transmission Service were performing quality work at honest prices, never sell anything our customers do not need, and giving them a complete service experience.
Over time, the word spread about our company. John, Terri, and family lived next to the business for many years and developed many close relationships with customers. In 1986, Guaranteed Transmission Service broke ground on a new facility. Two years later the continuing support and growth led to the expansion of a new 14 bay service center. Thanks to our customers Guaranteed Transmission Service became the largest independent transmission service facility in the state.
Today Guaranteed Transmission Service remains one of the largest independent repair centers in the state, still specializing in what we do best, transmissions!
Clint and Dustin Johnson, sons of John and Terri, have taken over the leading roles at Guaranteed Transmission Service. They are dedicated to upholding the founding principles Guaranteed Transmission Service was built on. Like most family businesses, Clint and Dustin were always around working after school and in the summer, doing anything from sweeping floors to tearing down and eventually rebuilding transmissions. As time passed, Clint and Dustin’s interest and love for the business grew. Clint went to Ivy Tech State College where he received his Associates Degree in General Automotive Repair and Dustin to Purdue University where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management.

Guaranteed Transmission Service has been in business over twenty-five years now, and still, the majority of their customer base is from referrals. The continued success is due to the relationships we have with our customers. Our reputation of honesty, quality work, and customer service has grown because of the relationships we built and the relationships we continue to build.
